PERFECT PEACE-2

Text : Isaiah 26:3

Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusts in thee.

The word 'shalom' which is translated into Peace can also mean completeness,  soundness, or total wholeness.

In the beginning, when God placed man in the garden of Eden before the fall, man had full shalom. Nothing could trouble or make Adam and Eve to be afraid. They had peace within themselves, with each other, with their environment (all other creations and creatures) and most importantly they had peace with God.

To be at peace within yourself and without will always mean soundness and wholeness. This was what the devil made man to lose as a result of disobedience. Immediately sin sets in, man lost his Shalom.

So, the major reason Jesus came was to take away that which has been depriving man of Shalom (Peace). Jesus Christ is the lamb that takes away the sin of the world. (John 1:29). The very sin that disrupted man's Shalom has been dealt with.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:(Romans 5:1). Faith in Jesus Christ, the lamb that took away the sin of the world is what gives you Peace.

Jesus Christ, thereafter strongly instructed his disciples to always have peace in Him. Though we will be faced with tribulations in this world, yet He told us to cheer up that He has overcome the world. (John 16:33).

What are your own tribulations or challenges today? The first thing you must do is to seek for Peace. That's what the enemy is always attacking.

To get your Peace, you must do God's instructions as stated  in Philippians 4:6
*Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6*

By doing the above, you will reap God's Peace in Philippians 4:7.
"...and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus".

 *Bible reading:*

 Psalms 46:1-5.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

Father, help my heart to stay on you and wholly trust in you, that I may always stay in soundness and wholeness of heart and mind.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
