JETHRO

Text : Exodus 18:8.

Moses told his father-in-law all that the LORD had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians on Israel’s behalf, all the hardships that they had encountered along the way, and how the LORD had delivered them.

Jethro was the father in law to Moses and he was a midianites' Priest. He did something worthy of emulation when he paid his son in law, Moses, a visit in the wilderness.

Jethro didn't witness the ten mighty wonders God performed in Egypt before the Israelites could be allowed to leave their land of slavery. Jethro was not there when God parted the red sea for the Israelites to pass through. All Jethro heard was testimony of God's great deliverance and goodness.

Yet, hear his response to these testimonies - _Now I know that the LORD is greater than all other gods, because of what happened to the Egyptians when they acted arrogantly against Israel.”_ Exodus 18:11.

Jesus told Thomas in John 20:29 that, **Is it because you’ve seen me that you have believed? How blessed are those who have never seen me and yet have believed!”*

Jethro was one of such blessed men. He believed God not because he has seen any miracle but because he heard what God has done.

How many wonders has God performed in your life? How many miracles have you seen? How many times has God delivered you from evil. With all these wondrous deeds, can you say like Jethro that you know that God is greater than other gods? Can you say that God is greater than your problems?

Is your heart truly trusting in God? Or are you carving out alternatives to God, in case He didn't come through for you in good time.

God has surrounded you with lots of His wonders and goodness so your heart can fully trust in Him. Regardless of the challenges that may come your way this year, know that the Almighty God will always come through for you just like He has done before.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
