Text : Isaiah 26:3.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Let's look at some of the key words in our text :
1.) Perfect peace:First and foremost, this suggests that there are other kind(s) of peace. And rightly so, Jesus told us that this world offers another kind of peace. He says:
I am leaving you at peace. I am giving you my own peace. I am not giving it to you as the world gives. So don’t let your hearts be troubled, and don’t be afraid. (John 14:27, ISV).
This goes to show that the world offers her own kind of peace, albeit the imperfect one, the one that brings troubles with it. The peace of this world is a temporal, short-lived peace. And it always come with many strings attached.
It is often said that when this world gives you a cap it collects your head in exchange.
Just pause and consider; aren't you giving more than necessary for the token you get in exchange?
*It is only the blessing of the Lord that makes rich without adding any sorrow to it.* (John 14:27).
*Jesus Christ is the Prince of peace, He is the only custodian and giver of Perfect Peace.* Isaiah 9:6.
If you desire peace in the true definition of it, then stop looking for help where it cannot be gotten. Come to the Prince of Peace Himself, let Him flood your heart and life with peace like a river.
