BEYOND TODAY!-2

Text. 1King 11:11

Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done by you, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

Looking at the life of King Solomon, with the level of wisdom God bestowed on him, it is clear that true wisdom is indeed in the fear of the Lord. Solomon himself said that  the fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.(Proverbs  1:7).

King Solomon in his wisdom, played great foolishness by marrying several strange women. These strange women turned his heart away from God. They brought in strange gods into God's temple. As a result, God declared judgement upon the household of Solomon. (1King 11:11-13).

King Solomon's experience goes with the saying that says "Eat today, and your children will pay tomorrow". Solomon satisfied his appetite and his children and all his generation paid for it.

As a result of Solomon's disobedience, the Kingdom of Israel was rent into two during the reign of his son (Rehoboam).

Secondly, the magnificent temple built by King Solomon was demolished as a result of his wrong decision to live for pleasure in his 'TODAY.' The very nation of Egypt from where he married one of his wives came against Jerusalem. They took away the treasures in God's temple and Solomon's house. They also took away all the shields of gold in the temple built by Solomon.

Rehoboam (Solomon's son) thereafter replaced the shield of gold that was taken away by the King of Egypt with brasen shield.(1Kings 14:25-26). You can see how Solomon's son was paying for his father's act of disobedience.

I beseech you in the name of the Lord. Kindly watch how you live your life today. Your story; told or untold will impact and impart your children's children.

All the glory and wisdom  of Solomon became a thing of the past just immediately after his demise. This is not a true success you should desire. A true and lasting success is that which transcends many generations after you are long gone.

Make up your mind today to start living intentionally for the gain and benefit of generation yet unborn.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
