BEHAVE WISELY

Text. 1 Samuel  18:14

And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him.

In chapter eighteen of first Samuel, it was recorded about four times that 'David behaved himself wisely."  Let's glean some wisdom in this wise behavior of king David.

At this point, David had already killed Goliath and brought victory and glory to Isreal. At this point, he was already a celebrity, the women were singing his praise and the men were talking very highly of him. Yet, he behaved himself wisely before them all.

Don't allow your achievements get into your head, the more successful you become the more humble you should be.

Real success comes from God. 1 Samuel 18:14 says, 'And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him.' The international standard version renders this verse thus,  _David was successful in all that he did, for the LORD was with him._

David was successful in all he did because the Lord was with him. You will become successful and gain wisdom for daily living if the Lord is with you.

Apart from killing Goliath, David later had to kill hundreds of these fearful Philistines warriors and he won each battle gallantly. He became so successful that other great armies held him in high esteem, yet, he behaved himself wisely.

When the Spirit of God is leading you, he will not only lead you into victory, he will teach you how to live the royal life of a victor.

 Bible reading:

 1 Samuel 18:1-37.

 PRAYER FOCUS

1.) Father, I receive the grace and wisdom to behave myself wisely in all situations in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...
