THESE THINGS

Text: 2 Peter 1:8.

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

There are things that will make a child of God to be fruitful and productive in the Christian race. If these things are lacking, barrenness in the Spirit is inevitable.

The second book of Peter itemised these seven things, which I refer to as necessary additions.

Beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith *virtue* ; and to virtue *knowledge* ;
And to knowledge *temperance* ; and to temperance *patience* ; and to patience *godliness* ;
And to godliness *brotherly kindness* ; and to brotherly kindness *charity.* (2Peter 1:5-8.)

A number of Christians' lives are not giving glory to God because they refused to add these things to their faith.

Your faith is the foundation, these necessary additions are the materials for the building structure of your faith.

Second Peter  chapter 1 verse 9 says, "the person who lacks these qualities is blind and shortsighted, and has forgotten the cleansing that he has received from his past sins."

Any Christian who lacks these things will not be Christ-like. Yes, he may have faith in God but his life will not radiate the beauty of God before people.

Don't just be a Christian by mouth, but a Christian indeed. Make every effort to add moral character to your faith.

BIBLE READING:

2 Peter 1:1-15.

PRAYER FOCUS

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
