BEWARE

Text: Luke 12:1.

In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Jesus used the word "beware" nine times in the new testament. Eight out of these nine, He was telling His disciples to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees. In Jesus's time they are the custodians of the law.

In those days, these custodians were referred to as Pharisees, Scribes, teachers, Prophets etc. In this present time, all the corrupt Pastors, false prophets, false teachers and deceitful workers in God's vineyard can be likened to the Pharisees in Jesus' days.

Jesus doesn't play with words; He meant what He says, and He says what He meant. So, if He told you to beware, you will do well to take heed.

At no point did He (Jesus) tell us to be cautious of witches or wizards, because if you are in Christ, you are far above their league.  However,  emphatically, Jesus said in Matthew  7:15  *Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.* 

One thing you should watch out for in these last days are the false prophets and false teachers. Jesus calls their teachings- 'leaven' (an agent used to make dough rise).

What you hear is like the food you take into your system. Just as good food will enhance good health and your wellbeing, on the other side junks and poisonous food will destroy your body. 

Beloved, God wants you to be selective in what you hear and see.  There are many "preachers and prophets" today on our tv screens, social media, on the streets and even in the church whose God is their belly, whose glory is in their shame, and who mind earthly things. (Philippians 3:19). 

As a child of God, you need to be able to test all spirits.

Apostle John warned us in first John chapter 4 verse 1 saying, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world."

WHEN GOD IS SILENT(2)

Text: Matthew 4:1  *Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.*  We saw yesterday that God was not pleased with many israelites that left Egypt for the promised land  (Corinthians 10:5).  A good percentage of the Israelites were overthrown in the wilderness.   Wilderness experience is not what any child of God desires, but it is an experience God sends or allows his children go through. In Deuteronomy 8:2, God says that He *LED* the Isrealites through the wilderness for forty years to humble them, to prove them, and to know what was in their heart whether they would keep his commandments or not.  Our Lord Jesus Christ was also *LED* into the wilderness by the Spirit of the Lord to be tempted by the devil. GULLIBLE BUT INTELLIGENT

Text : Mat 25:31-32  *When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:*   *And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:*  Have you ever wondered why Jesus compared His followers to sheep and not goats?  Sheep has reputation for being stupid, defenceless and harmless creatures that mope about on hillsides doing not very much.
