WORD WAR!-2

Text: Matthew 12:37

For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."

God gave victory to Isreal over the Philistines because David understood how to fight the word-war.

Goliath referred to the Isrealis army as the servants of Saul (1 Samuel 17:8) but David called them the armies of the living God. (1 Samuel 17:26).

To engage in any word-war and come out victoriously,  you must first and foremost know your true identity.

*Having a true identity of who you are in Christ will position you to answer and respond to life challenges appropriately*.

David asked the men who were standing by him, “What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? Indeed, who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?” 1Samuel 17:26.

Unlike the rest of the Isrealis armies,  David saw Goliath for who He truly was,-'an uncircumcised Philistine.'

Regardless of his stature and the exaggerated weapons he carried, David knew he had no right to defile the army of the living God, he knew Goliath had overstepped his boundaries.

In the same vein,  you have no business fearing any demon or spirit, regardless of their stature and rantings. If you are in Christ, you are far above every ruler, authority, power and dominion. (Ephesians 1:20-22, Ephesians 2:6).

Now, it's one thing to know who you are, it's another thing to declare what you know. This explains why Jesus said, "you will say to this mountain..." in Matthew 17:20.

As Goliath was scaring the armies of Isreal with his words, David responded back with words laced with confidence in the Almighty God.

Goliath said, “Come to me! I’ll give your flesh to the birds of the sky and to the beasts of the field.”
Then David told the Philistine, “You come at me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of the Heavenly Armies, the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defied.

This very day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I’ll strike you down and remove your head from you. And this very day I’ll give the dead bodies of the Philistine army to the birds of the sky and to the animals of the earth, so that all the earth will know that there is a God in Israel. (1 Samuel 17:44-46). Well, the battle went just as David has professed.

Dont keep quiet when negative words are uttered towards you (whether jokingly or seriously). Refuse it and change the narratives by proclaiming God's words concerning such situation.  Remember,  every war starts with words.  You can shape your world by your words.

By your words you shall be justified or condemned.
