BLIND BARTIMAEUS-2

Text: Mark 10:47.

And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

Everything in this world is intended to teach us the real world, which is the spirit world. Every event recorded in the Bible is recorded for us to glean wisdom from, so we could lead a renewed life in Christ Jesus.

So, today, we will further glean some lessons from the story of the blind Bartimaeus.

*He heard about Jesus.*
Mark 10:47. _When *he heard that Jesus* of Nazareth was there, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”_

Though he was blind, but he was not deaf. *To gain access to the things of the kingdom of God, you need your eyes and your ears. Even if you can't see, let your ears lead you to where you will gain your sight.*

This is why Jesus Himself says in Matthew  13:16 that, *blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.*

*Anyone whose eyes and ears cannot comprehend the things of the Spirit is far from the blessings of God.*

Proverbs 20:12 says _The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them._ You can actually ask the Lord to bless you with these two, because not everyone with physical eyes and ears can actually see or hear what the Spirit is doing or saying.

When the blind Bartimaeus heard about Jesus, he did something, he began to shout and call out to Him for mercy.

And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to *cry out, and say,* Jesus, thou Son of David, *have mercy on me* . Mark 10:47.

How many times have you heard about this same Jesus Christ? What did you do about what you have heard?

Three things are obvious about this man Bartimaeus-
1.) *He knew he was blind.* A problem known they say, is half-solved. He wasn't living in denial. Many are in their darkness still today because they refused to acknowledge that they are truly blind.

Jesus Christ told the Pharisees that if they had acknowledged their blindness, they would have been helped, but because they claimed they see, their sins remained with them. John 9:39-41.
Examine yourself, and know your true estate.

2.) *He was willing to be healed.* This explains why he shouted out for help. Many are in dire need of Jesus, but they are not willing to be helped. This is the work of Satan. You must fight this Satan's work in your life in the place of prayer. And if you know anyone who is refusing to be helped, learn to pray for such as well.

3.) *He acknowledged the true Help.* Obviously, Bartimaeus must have heard about the miraculous power of Jesus. He already knew and believed Him to be the promised Messiah, because he addressed Him as Son of David and not son of Joseph.

If a man who was blind physically can believe Jesus in this dimension, then you who can read the Bible and have had several opportunities to hear about the sovereignty of our Lord is without excuse.

Like the blind Bartimaeus, cry out to the Lord for mercy and you can be sure He will not turn you down.

Bible Reading:

Mark 10:46-52.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1.) Father God, I pray that the eyes of my heart will be enlightened so I will not walk in darkness anymore.

2.) Father, please give me a seeing eye and a hearing ear in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
