Text : Act 1:11.
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
It was prophesied long ago that the Messiah will come. In Isaiah 9:6, Isaiah boldly declared that, _For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace._
Again, very explicitly, Isaiah 7:14 says, Therefore, the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
When this was prophesied thousands of years ago, some people did not believe it because they refused to listen to the voice of the Spirit. Some others didn't believe because it didn't sink with both logic and science.
However, today, everyone knows that indeed Jesus Christ was born of a virgin Mary. Everything that was written concerning Jesus before His birth was fully fulfilled in Him when He came here physically as man.
In the same vein, we are told of some things that will happen in the future before the close of this generation, yet some people are sceptical about it, while some are handling it with a pinch of salt attitude.
After His death and resurrection, Jesus Christ ascended to heaven in the full glare of everyone present. Before their very eyes, Jesus was taken up to heaven.
Astonished, they were glued to that spot wondering what just happened. While they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;Act 1:10. These men affirmed to them (and to us too), that this same Jesus will come back again.
If you believe in the efficacy of God's words, then you should always remember this. Just as it was said that the Saviour will be born and it came to pass, now we are being told that He will come back again, then you should know it is true.
Of a truth, the same Jesus that walked the street of Galilee will come back to this earth again to reign forever more.
Revelation 1:7 says Look! He is coming in the clouds. Every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of him. So be it! Amen.
Since it's so certain that our Lord is coming back again, how well prepared are you to meet with Him? God cannot be mocked, you will surely reap what you sowed when Jesus comes the second time.
Jesus says in Revelation 22:12 that, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
