Text : Mark 14:3
And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.
Do you know that It's possible for Mary to go about flaunting the alabaster box everywhere she goes without ever allowing the content to spill out.
Unlike Mary, many are flaunting the fact that they are Christians, yet the people around them cannot perceive the aroma and aura of Christ in them.2 Timothy 3:5 says these people have a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof: from such turn away.
You are not a Christian just because you professed to be one, you are a christian because you are living and behaving like Christ.
Matthew 5:16 says *Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.* That is, apart from what you professed to be, your good works are what people will see before they can give glory to God on your behalf.
*When people around you cannot clearly describe you as a child of God, then you should know that your alabaster box is not broken, and God will not be glorified through you.* The Jesus you carry is locked up inside you, and men cannot really see Christ in you or through you.
You must also note that when you truly allow your alabaster box to be broken on Jesus' account, not only will people see your light and perceive your endearing fragrance, some people will definitely criticise you.
In verse four of our text, some people obviously showed their displeasure at the godly act of this woman. ... _and there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?_
Some people will not be comfortable with your Holy life. When you refuse to join your colleagues in lying or cheating others, you will definitely not be in their good book.
Some people will criticise that you are wasting your time, beauty, brain, resources etc unnecessarily. However, just as Jesus said concerning the woman, you must know that your obedience in allowing the Holy Spirit to break off the works of the flesh in you will never go unrewarded, both here and in heaven.
Conclusively, Jesus said in Revelations 22:12 that, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

PRAYER FOCUS
1.) Father God, I receive the grace to daily bring my alabaster box to the feet of Jesus and to willfully break it on Him so His life can gain expression in and through me.
