TRUST & OBEY

Text :John 4:49 &50

The nobleman said to Him, "Sir, come down before my child dies!"Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your son lives." So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.

The nobleman came to Jesus with a request about his sick son who was about to die. He asked that Jesus should come with him to heal his son.

Contrary to this man's expectation, Jesus replied saying, "Go your way, your son lives" This response from Jesus could have received different reactions from different folks. But as for this nobleman, he chose to simply believe and obey the word of Jesus.

The question that readily comes to mind is- why would  this nobleman not be so anxious to the point that he would insist on  going home with Jesus? The man obeyed and went his way because he believed in the potency of Jesus' Words.

The nobleman rested on the integrity of Jesus' Word.

How about you? What is your disposition towards God's word?
Do you simply believe the words of Jesus? When He speaks into your situation, do you allow His words to bring peace to your heart or you keep on worrying after all.

The Hymn, "Trust and Obey" by John H. Sammis described the correlation between Trust and Obedience as far as God's words is concerned.

The nobleman trusted Jesus and obeyed the instruction given to him. *Are you resting on the integrity of God's word?*

Sometimes, God's word comes to you as instruction which you must obey. At another time, it comes to you as promises which you must trust.

The nobleman did not argue about the situation of his son, he simply trusted Jesus' Word and he obeyed Him.

Trust and Obey, for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus, than to trust and obey...

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

THE GREATEST

Text : Matthew 18:4   *Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.*   *Being the greatest in the kingdom is not about what you do but who you are.* Jesus pointed out here that little children are humble beings. Hence, what qualifies a person as the greatest in the kingdom of heaven is humility. Little children are both lowly and meek. These are qualities that does not come naturally to an adult. For instance, when you bring a little child from a wealthy background to live in a very poor home with another poor little child, he will gladly comply without any struggle. He will never complain or compare. He will simply adapt and gladly receive all the low and impoverished treatments. No adult or grown up child can accept this so easily.  That is the reason Jesus did not ask us to be converted and become as a child but ' *little child* '   _And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be co...
