MUSTARD SEED FAITH

Text : Matthew  17:20

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Yesterday, we saw how people with little faith cannot receive anything from the Lord, because little faith is tantamount to no faith.

Today, Jesus is saying to us from our text that if we have mustard-seed kind of faith, we can move mountains.

Undoubtedly, the mustard seed is one of the smallest seeds ever. So, why will Jesus use such seed to depicts the kind of faith His disciples should have in Him?

Well, He gave us the reason for His choice, He said in Mark 4:31 that the kingdom of God is like a mustard seed planted in the ground. Although it’s the smallest of all the seeds on earth, when it’s planted it comes up and becomes larger than all the garden plants. It grows such large branches that the birds in the sky can nest in its shade.”

Embedded in the small mustard seed is its potential to grow into one of the largest garden plants. However, for this growth to happen, the seed has to be planted.

In the same vein, Jesus expects you to have such kind of a growing faith. Once your faith is planted in Jesus it will produce the impossible.

Another thing about the mustard seed is, it grows large enough that it provides shelter for other creatures of God.

A mustard seed faith will make you a channel of blessing to others. Your faith will not just be about you, but others will benefit from the abundance of God's grace in your life.

A mustard seed faith is a growing faith that never stops producing.
Anyone who has a mustard seed faith will be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in its season,  and whose leaf does not wither. He will prosper in everything he does. Psalms 1:3.

*When you have faith like a mustard seed, then you've got an exceedingly great and powerful faith. Such faith is lively and potent.

Bible Reading:

Matthew 13:18-21.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
