MURMURING

Text : 1 Corinthians  10:10

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

Murmuring opens one up to the destroyer. It's a sin that God frowns at, and a sin you must frown at too.

Every sin man commits gives the devil a foothold to operate in his life. This is why James 4:7 says *Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.* For the devil to flee from you, you've got to do two things-
1.) Submit to God
2.) Resist the devil.

One way to resist the devil is by not giving him a foothold ( through sin) to operate in your life.

Now, it's clear from our text that murmurers give the destroyer a license to operate in their lives.

None of the Isrealites who murmured in the wilderness made it to the promised land, they all perished in the wilderness. Numbers 26:64-65.

These things happened to them to serve as an example, and they were written down as a warning for us in whom the culmination of the ages has been attained. 1 Corinthians 10:11.

There may always be a legit reason to murmur, but when such reason arose, instead of murmuring or complaining,  turn it to prayer and table it as request before Him.

 *Bible Reading:*

Matthew 8:23-27.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1.) Father, I am sorry for ways I have murmured in the past, please forgive me.

2.) Father, I receive the grace to desist from murmurings and to be grateful for what you have blessed me with.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

DECEITFULNESS OF SIN 2

TEXT. Hebrews 3:13  *But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin* .  *While deceit is a sin, Sin itself is deceitful.* Sin has the capacity to lure a man to do stuffs. *One of the major vices of the devil is to make sin appear attractive and unharmfult.* If Eve could see what the consequences of eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would be, she would have resisted the deception of the man of sin. She was simply deceived.Gen, 3:6 While it is no news that all sinners are already condemned to deceitfulness of sin, it is sad to know that many children of God (like Adam and Eve), are being easily deceived by Sin. See the case of Ananias and Sapphira, Acts 5:1-13. Many Christians today are still playing the same game of smartness this couple played. I call it smartness because that was what they thought they were doing. While they thought they were smart, Peter knew that Satan h...
