GALILEE

Text: Matthew  28:7

And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

Easter is not just a weekend celebration. This season is only to commemorate the event. Easter is a lifetime celebration for every Christian.

The death and resurrection of Christ is the bedrock of our faith as Christians.

The angel that spoke with Mary told her to tell His disciples that He is risen. *Your first assignment as a believer is to herald the good news to all around you, that He is risen.*

If indeed you have encountered Him, then, you have been saddled with the responsibility of witnessing to what you know and have.

Again, the angel told her that Jesus will be found in Galilee. Jesus Himself told them the same thing in verse 10 of Matthew 28.

Then Jesus told them, “Stop being frightened! Go and tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.”Mat 28:10.

Why Galilee you might ask? Galilee means  heathen circle, that is where unbelievers are concentrated. Why will Jesus choose such a location to meet with His disciples after resurrection?

Well, God's mission's statement was so clear in John 3:16, He says For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus came so believers (in Him) will not perish. But how can anyone believe if there were no preachers.

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?Romans  10:14.

Jesus is still very much interested in saving sinners. He came to die for sinners actually. He says for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.Mat 9:13.

At His ascension, He said to His disciples Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:Mat 28:19.

*Jesus is still waiting for you in Galilee,  so you can show Him and tell of His love to the gentiles.*

A song has it thus:

Go where the sinners are
Go where the sinners are
Go and tell them about Jesus
Go where the sinners are.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1.) Father, please pour your compassion into my heart so I  can see the gentiles the way you do.
