*ONE DAY AT A TIME-2.*

Text:Matthew 6:34

"So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today.

*"...beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." (2 Peter  3:8).* If this singular truth is well entrenched and established in your heart, you will learn to value your daily journey with the Lord.

A daily walk on earth can amount to a thousand walk in God's sight, and a thousand walk can be pressed into a day's journey before the Lord.

The import of this narrative is that God wants you to live one day at a time. There are certain walks you will take, that heaven will reward you eternally. That's a day corresponding to a thousand years.

For instance, let us consider the good works of a woman in Matthew 26-7-13. While Jesus was in Bethany in the house of Simon, the leper, Mary came with an alabaster box of  of spikenard ointment.. This was a very precious and expensive ointment. She broke the box and poured the ointment on Jesus' head.

In response to this singular act, people around became so angry. They felt the woman had wasted resources. They believed such precious ointment should have been sold and use the proceeds for charity works to the poor.

Little did the people who witnessed this event realised that Mary's good deed has qualified her for more than a thousand years' reward just within one day.

Jesus said to the people, "Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her."(Matthew 26:13).

Jesus had ascended to heaven for over 2000 years ago, and we are still talking about the good deeds of this woman. Her good deeds travels with the gospel as proclaimed by Jesus.

You need discernment to be able to know how to live a thousand year in one day. This woman could discern well that the precious ointment in the alabaster box was not meant for the poor, but for Jesus.

A song by Meriam Bellina, "One Day at a Time" teaches the importance of living  one day at a time with eternity in view.

One day at a time sweet Jesus,
That's all am asking from you.
Lord give me the strength.
To do everyday what I have to do.
Yesterday's gone sweet Jesus
And tomorrow may never be mine.
Lord help me TODAY, show me the way.
One day at a time.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
