Text : John 2:24
But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
We already considered various scenarios where Jesus' disciples betrayed and denied Him, and these explained why Jesus wouldn’t commit Himself unto men.
Today, we shall be focusing on the succeeding verse to our text -
John 2:25 - _Jesus had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man._ Hence, at no point in time was Jesus dissapointed in man.
Jesus did not commit Himself unto man, and He was never dissapointed in man because He knew what was in man. This was because He knew that *the measure of one's dissapointment in a person is determined by the degree of one's dependence or trust in that person.*
Now, the question is; what has Jesus seen in man that made man unreliable?
Jesus knew that the very heart of man is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked.
(Jeremiah 17:9).
With this deceitful heart of man, no man should put his trust in another man, and not even in himself. (Jeremiah 17:5)
_Thus says the LORD: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD._
The arm of flesh will always fail, so quit looking up to man for help or for approval. God is your only true Help. He can't fail, and He doesn't disappoint.
The most reliable of men is still a man. Yes, God will use man, but it's not in your place to lean on man.
*Trust in the Lord with all your heart and He will direct your path.*
*Bible reading:*
Mathew 26:43-56.
*PRAYER FOCUS*
