BELIEVERS' TOKEN-2

Text:Mark 16:17&18

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

*Right believing will always bring right results.* Often than not, most Christians do not believe rightly, hence they are unable to come into the experiential knowledge of what the Lord Jesus promised in the text above.

For instance, Jesus once told the man whose son was being assaulted by evil spirit, *"If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes."*  The man cried out and said with tears, "Lord I believe; help my unbelief. (Mark 9: 23&24.)

The question one may probably be asking is, how can this man believe, and at the same time he is asking that his unbelief be helped?

New Living Translation version renders it thus: "...The father instantly cried out, "I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!" (Mark 9:24).

I am always grateful that the Holy Spirit has allowed this statement made by this man in Mark 9:24 to be recorded.  This is because this man's statement shows the position of many believers today. Although they believe that God can do all things, but they still have unbelief and doubts at the same time.

*It is one thing to believe that God can do all things, it is another thing entirely to believe that He will do it in your own life.* That was the unbelief the man was asking the Lord to help him with.

You find it easy to  believe that nothing is impossible with God, but when there is a situation in your own life that needs the confirmation of this scripture, then it becomes difficult for you to believe. It ought not to be so.

You must learn to hold God at His word by doing what He says you can do, while you also reliably expect Him to do what He says He would do.

Just like the man in Mark 9:24, you may also need to learn to tell the Lord to help your unbelief when you discover that doubts welling up in your mind against the truth that you have believed.

ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT ALL THINGS ARE STILL POSSIBLE WITH GOD IN YOUR OWN LIFE, EVEN NOW!

Bible  Reading:

Mark 9:14-29

PRAYER FOCUS

1.) LORD, I believe that all things are possible with you even in my own life.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
