WATCH & BE SOBER

Text : 1 Thessalonians 5:6

Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

I recall the early morning cry of those days, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!"

This early morning cry has a way of stirring the believers and making them sober, while inviting the unbelievers to repentance.

Although, the kingdom of heaven(God) came with Christ's resurrection, yet the period between Christ's resurrection and His second coming is the time of ingathering into the kingdom of heaven.

While, the chanting of, "repent for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand" had always brought many souls into the kingdom of God; I believe that our declaration in this season should be: *"...the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer" (1 Peter  4:7).*

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.(1 John  2:18).

*We are no longer in the last days, but we are now in the last time.*

*You must know that the end is no longer at hand, but that the end is already here.* This knowledge will help you as a believer to watch and be sober.

While God would have us pray for all men, and for the peace of our world. We  must however know that true peace can only be found in Christ and His Kingdom alone. (1Timothy 2:1-2).

United Nations cannot offer our world the much needed peace in this present world. Our peace is only in Jesus. (John 14:27).

You must therefore watch and be sober, getting ready for your flight. Your flight can come while you are awake (alive) or at sleep (in death). This is rapture. It will certainly happen, and every true believer will experience it, while alive or in death.

Hence, you must always be watching , praying and be sober.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
