INFLUENCE-2

Text: Proverbs 13:20

He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.

Knowing that your companionship with the wise makes you wise, then you must choose your company wisely.

Today, influence has gone beyond physical contact with your immediate community. There is another force that is influencing people either in a positive or negative way.

We live in time and season where Internet and technology is influencing a whole lot of people in a meaningful and dramatic way. Internet and Technology  has a big stronghold on an average person that has access to computer or phone device.

For instance, you cannot imagine how social media has led to many suicidal attempts, depression, time and financial wastages, and all manner of unthinkable immoralities. This is not just limited to young people alone; the adults are not left behind as well.

So, if you are not careful, you may find yourself in the company of fools through social media platforms. God is reminding you today never to company with fools so as to avoid destruction.

You must see to it that you don't company with ungodly people on social platforms. For instance, you must decide to unfollow someone who is not adding any good or value to your life, stop checking on people's whatsapp status anyhow. You know people by their status, once you have discovered that a person does not have inspiring information on his status once, wisdom demands that you stay away from such status.

Also, desist from opening videos that are not properly tagged. Some of these clips may be constituting wrong influences on your life.

Internet facilities and social media platforms are major influencers in our world today. You must be decisive on what you see and watch on them.

You are warned to *abstain from all appearance of evil.*  (1 Thess. 5:22). We have a bunch of evil appearances which you must daily abstain from on Internet facilities and social media.

You must also mark people (both in physical and online) who in the name of religion, cast bad influences on you. God is not mincing words about how you should treat them.
 *"...if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed."* (2 Thess. 3:14);

I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:(1 Cor. 5:9).

The scripture is explicit on those you should not company with -
But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.1 Corithians 5:11.
