SEEK KNOWLEDGE 2

Text :  2 Peter 1:3

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the full knowledge of the one who called us by his own glory and excellence.

God's divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness. However, you can only access these things through knowledge.

Have you ever wondered why some Christians are not living a life that shows the nature of the God they claim to carry?

Or, have you ever wondered why you are not really leading a life  that depicts His godliness? Well, the answer is simple, our text says, His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness *through the full knowledge of Him* who called us.. So, it's clear that knowledge is key.

*It is one thing to have everything you need, it is another thing to lack the knowledge of everything you have.*

Anyone that lacks the full knowledge of the God that called him will lack the power to live the life expected of him.

This is why second Timothy 3:5 says some believers (so called)  will hold on to an outward form of godliness but deny its power thereof.

Godliness has little or nothing to do with going to church, leading any group in church or performing any of such activities. At best, these can only be regarded as religion. But godliness has everything to do with how your everyday life pleases the Father.

The more of the Father you know, the  more of His commandments you will obey and the more your life will bring pleasure to Him.

Lack of knowledge will ultimately lead to destruction. Hosea 4:6  says: "My people are destroyed because they lack knowledge of me" Because you rejected that knowledge, I will reject you as a priest for me. Since you forget the Law of your God, I will also forget your children.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
