LOVE AND HATE

Text :  Hebrews 1:9.

You have loved righteousness and hated iniquity. That is why God, your God, anointed you rather than your companions with the oil of gladness.”

It's not enough to love righteousness, you must also hate iniquity.

Loving righteousness doesn't necessarily means you automatically hated iniquity and vice versa.

Many well meaning Christians desire to be righteous but they do not have enough hatred for sin.

Note that we have inputed righteousness,  the righteousness that God bestowed on you by reason of your faith in the Lord Jesus. And there's the righteousness you work out after you have received Christ.

1 John 3:7 says *Little children, don’t let anyone deceive you. The person who practices righteousness is righteous, just as the Messiah is righteous.*

So you are not righteous just because you profess to be, but because you practice righteousness.

Practicing righteousness involves hating iniquity. Hebrews 12:4 says, In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.

To hate iniquity is to intentionally resist every invitation to sin and to embrace the way of righteousness.

Proverbs 8:13 says the fear of the LORD is to hate evil. You must grow in your faith to the point where you love what the Lord loves and hate what He hates, Romans 12:9.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
