FREEDOM FROM ANXIETY

TEXT: Philippians 4:6

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;*

Anxiety is a major feature of a life that is lived outside of God. While anxiety can be a norm for people who have no trust in God, it must never be for any true child of God.

It is however quite unfortunate, that most of God's children live perpetually in anxiety.
Anxiety is a strong sign of unbelief in a believer's life.

Let me quickly give you dictionary meaning of anxiety perhaps it will help.

Anxiety is an unpleasant state of mental uneasiness, nervousness, apprehension and obsession or concern about some uncertain events. It is
an uneasy or distressing desire for something.

God is always willing to set His children free from this state of mind, but the reality surrounding them always seem to be gaining upper hand against the inner peace that Jesus promised His followers.

For instance, Jesus is saying to you now,
*"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid"(John 14:27).*

As a true follower of Jesus Christ, your peace should know no bounds.

No single religious leader ever gave such assurance of Peace at any point in time in history. Only the Shepherd and Bishop of our souls could give such an assurance.

"...MY Peace I leave with you..."
Wow! Jesus left His own very Peace with us.

Just think about this in a moment.

The same peace Jesus had while sleeping in the hinder part of the ship in the face of raging stormy sea, is still here with you right now. (Mark 4:36-41).

Whatever provision, protection, deliverance or restoration that His Peace brought to the disciples while He was here in the flesh is still available to you today.

Jesus further said, "...Let not your heart be troubled..."
*Anytime you allow your heart lose sight of Jesus and His words, then you are losing your Peace.*

Never you allow your heart run out of God's assurance of Peace. *Whenever anxiety is about to attend your soul, gently whisper to yourself; "I have Jesus' Peace with me, O my soul don't be troubled"* Remind yourself of this always.

BIBLE READING:

Mark 4:36-41.

PRAYER FOCUS

1. I have Jesus' Peace, I therefore I declare peace over my life and every situation around me in the name of Jesus.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
