ORPHAN-2

Text: John 14:18

I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you.

From God's perspective, a person is not an orphan   because he is a minor without earthly parents; but because he is void of total dependence on Him.

Jesus' disciples, having stayed and interacted with Him for 3years could no longer live the rest of their lives without Him again. It was so evident they would become orphans at His departure if He did not come back to them. Hence, He gave them the assurance: "I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you"

He truly came, not only for them but for you  as well. He abides with us through the Comforter-the Spirit of the Father; the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, " *...you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God's Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, "Abba, Father."* Romans 8:15

Without the evidential and manifest presence of the Holy Spirit in your life, you are simply an orphan. Without the Holy Spirit, you are comfortless.

This is the reason many are hurting in our world today. They are comfortless and hurting because they are void of the COMFORTER.  An orphan hurts because he has no one to comfort him.

The indwelling of the Holy Spirit in a believer will always deal with hurts and any form of difficulty or tribulation.

For instance, a child, once his parents are with him, he is confident and comforted in whatever tribulation that may confront him.

In the same vein, once you are assured of God's presence with you through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, you will never be moved by any situation.
Jesus said to His disciples and by extension to you as well, *"....Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world."* (John 16:33).

Please desist from all teachings and teachers that  promise you that you will not be confronted with challenges and tribulations on this side of eternity. Such will never help you at all.(Acts 14:22,
2 Thess. 1:4).

*Any believer who does not continously open himself up to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, will be exposed to the spirit of orphan.*

Bible  Reading: Luke 15:11-24.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*
