WISE JUDGEMENT

Text :   1Kings 3:26.

The woman whose child was still alive cried out to the king, because her heart yearned for her son. “Oh no, your majesty!” she said. “Give her the living child. Please don’t kill him.” But the other woman said, “Cut him in half! That way, he’ll belong to neither one of us.”

The story of King Solomon and the two prostitutes fighting over a child is such a profound one.

Two prostitutes who lived in the same house got pregnant at the same time,  and  they gave birth around the same time.

The two of them gave birth to a boy-child each. And it happened that one of them overslept on her child and he died. She immediately exchanged her dead son with the living one while the other woman was asleep.

Now, among other things, these two prostitutes were fighting for the ownership of the living son.

Quite a number of evil happen when men are sleeping, hence, it is wisdom to commit your life to the hand of the only one that neither sleeps nor slumbers.

Many destinies are changed or thwarted when men sleep spiritually. It is time to awake from your slumber and let Christ be your light.

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.Ephesians  5:14 .

Well, prior to the episode of these two prostitutes fighting over a living child, King Solomon had asked God for wisdom to know how to judge the people wisely, and God had blessed him with it.

Without God's wisdom in him, he wouldn't have been able to judge the situation correctly. This is because the testimony of the two women were both convincing and confusing.

“Not so,” claimed the other woman. “The living child is my son, and the dead one is yours.” But the first woman said, “Not so! The dead child is your son and the living one is my son.” This is what they testified before the king. 1 Kings 3:22.

Just like Solomon,  you also need wise judgement on issues on a daily basis.

As a child of God, you can't afford to take things on the face level all the time because things are not just how they seem.

You need the wisdom of God to see things the way they truly are and to hear beyond what men are saying with their mouths.

It is wisdom to pray for wisdom so you can lead a life that is pleasing to the Father.
