TAKE NO THOUGHT

Text :Mathew 6:34

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

*Jesus is not against you planning for tommorrow, but he sternly warned about you being anxious.* It is normal with average man to be full of thoughts about what tommorrow will bring or look like.

People take thoughts of their future, children, financial security, retirement age, they nurse fear of  death, fear of loosing loved ones, fear of what the future holds, fear of failure, etc. All these and more are the reasons for man's labour, struggles, anxieties and confusion.

Men have been held in bondage from time immemorial, but Jesus wouldn't want you to be part of this bondage anymore.

Jesus wanted His disciples (followers) to be free from Mammon. *Anyone who has been overcome by taking thoughts of tommorrow (anxiety)will certainly serve Mammon.*

Jesus wants you to see your tommorrow through God's eye. You must see God as your Future.
In Mathew 6:24  Jesus emphatically stated that  _No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon"_

If you are told that you are serving Mammon, you will vehemently refute it and say God forbid. But to know if you are serving Mammon or God, you need to ask yourself these questions:

Am I taking thoughts for my life?

Am I grossly concerned about what to eat, what to drink; or what to put on?

Am I taking thought about tommorrow?

If you are preoccupied with all these thoughts, then you are likely to be a servant of Mammon. Jesus made a statement in Mathew 6:25 that no man can serve Mammon and God, verse 26 to 32 clearly stated how the gentiles serve mammon. *The pursuit of the gentiles are food, drink and raiment, and by that, they succumb themselves to the worship of Mammon. Becareful not to make same your pursuit.* Only God seekers can be free from the worship of mammon.
