GROWING IN GRACE-2

Text :  2 Peter 3:18

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

*Grace started you off on your salvation journey, and you can finish strong only by His Grace.*

Grace is an enabler. Grace is an unquantifiable blessing from God. *Grace is God's factor that releases and connects a man with the essence of God.* This is why it's essential for you to grow in grace so your life can be decorated with His goodness.

Yesterday,  we looked at two of the ways by which we can grow in grace, today,  we shall look into a few more.

1.) Through weakness: God takes pleasure in showcasing His glory through seemingly weak or unqualified vessels. He told us in 2 Corinthians  12:9 that, *My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness,* this is why Paul went further to say, most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

God can only help you when you acknowledge your helplessness before Him. Jesus said he only came to help the helpless. Luke 5:31-32.

2.) Through prayers:
Another way by which the grace of God increases in a man is Through prayer.

Hebrews 4:16 says Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

When you go to God in prayer, two things you should never fail to ask for are mercy and grace, and you will surely get them when you ask in faith.

Bible  Reading: John 1:11-18.

 PRAYER FOCUS

1.) Father God, I come to you today acknowledging my weakness, and I pray you shower with your grace and mercy in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
