STAND IN YOUR PLACE

TEXT: 1 Corinthians. 7:20

Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called.

John the Baptist knew how to stand in his calling. He knew perfectly well that he has been ordained to do just one thing- introduce Jesus to the Israelites.

Do you know the one thing the Lord has committed into your hand? Then it will be great if you can stand in it.

When the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem  to ask  John, "Who are you?" (John 1:19).
The response He gave them revealed a lot about the humility of John, unlike many ministers and workers in the vineyard of God today.

The scripture says, He.....confessed, "I am not the Christ." (John 1:20).

You must learn to humbly accept and stand in your God's given place in the kingdom. If you have been called to serve, then serve wholeheartedly; if you have been called to lead; then lead responsibly, knowing that you would give account to God. Whatever duty, task or work you find yourself in, you must stay faithfull in it.

John the baptist stay focused on His call as the forerunner of our Lord Jesus Christ. He affirmed that Jesus is He who comes after him, and is preferred before him, whose sandal strap he is not worthy to loose" (John 1:27).

John knew that Jesus must increase while he had to decrease. He never took Jesus as his contemporary or his competitor.

Don't struggle for another man's place. Stay in your own place and God will promote you in due course.
