YOU ARE THE LIGHT-2

Text : Matthew 5:13

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

While God expects your light to shine for all to see just like a city that is set on an hill which cannot be hid; you also must ensure that you intentionally allow (let) your light shine for all to see.

Though, God's light, (Jesus Christ) has given light to every man in the world today, but every man is responsible for the acceptance or rejection of this light. (John 1:9).

Having accepted the light, you now have the responsibility of shinning forth the light for the world to see your good works.

You cannot shine your light through good works, rather you only shine your light so that men could see your good works. It is in shinning your light (Christ) that men would see your good works.

So many folks are often confused about Mathew 5:16. They thought that it is by doing certain good deeds or charitable works that they shine their light. This is a wrong concept. The right idea of the scripture is that your good works would be seen when you allow the Christ(light) in you shine.

When you allow Jesus Christ who is the light in you gain full control and expression, then He becomes your light.  (Psalms 27:1). And when you shine Him, men will see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

As a believer, the degree of light you shine forth is dependent on how much of Christ's control and expression you have allowed in your life.

So, to let your light shine as remarked by our Lord Jesus Christ in Mathew 5:16, is simply allowing Christ express Himself through you. And when you do, men will see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Bible Reading: John 1:1-9

PRAYER FOCUS

1.) Father God,  I receive the grace to be deliberate about shinning my light in this wicked world.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
