THINK ON THESE THINGS.

Text: Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Today, we shall be looking at honesty as one of the things we are commended to give our thoughts to.

The truth is who you truly are is contained in your thoughts. That's why proverbs 23:7 says as a man thinks in his heart so is he.

Matthew 12:34 says from the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.  That is, what you say is also precipitated on what you have stored in your heart. What you have stored however, is based on what you have ruminated on over a period of time. Infact, all of these are  responsible for what you have in your subconscious.

Your subconscious is the realm where you are not really in control, but the stored information takes over and you speak or act accordingly.

Now, if your thought line carry such weight and importance, then, wisdom demands that you pay attention to what you give your thoughts to.

You must give yourself to ```WHATSOEVER THINGS ARE HONEST.``` *Honesty is a virtue that both God and man cherishes, don't trade it for anything.* (2 Corinthians  8:21) says ```Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.```

The first time the word honest was mentioned  in the new testament from the king James version, was when Jesus was talking about a heart that yields bountiful harvest.

But that on the good ground are they, which in *an honest and good heart* , having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. (Luke  8:15).
That is, honesty is a heart thing first and foremost.

When a business proposal is presented to you, think about it, is it a honest business?

Think about it, Are you honest with your spouse? Are you honest in your business? Are you honest in your dealings with men?

Honesty is still the best policy. Uphold a good policy.

BIBLE READING:Philippians 4:6-9.

PRAYER FOCUS

1. Lord, I'm sorry for every act of dishonesty  I've walked in in the past.

2. Father, please give me the grace to lead an honest life.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
