MAKING YOUR ELECTION SURE

Text :  2 Peter 1:10

Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble.

It is very important that you pay close attention to Jesus' parable in our today's Bible reading (Matthew 22:2-14). Apostle Peter reiterated the import of same parable in second Peter chapter 1 verse  10.

Jesus said, many are called but few are chosen. From the parable, it is clear that not all the called would eventually make it into the kingdom of heaven.

In the parable, the reason why the called was not chosen is because he was not having the wedding garment on.

Necessity is laid on everyone (believers) who has been called into the kingdom of heaven to  be diligent enough, so as to be in the right wedding garment. This would qualify him to partake in the marriage supper of the lamb. (Rev. 19:9).

*No wedding gown, No wedding! It is same principle in the kingdom. Do make sure you are having on you spotless garment for the marriage supper of the lamb*

Having been called into the kingdom of God as a new born (born again), you need to be properly dressed in appropriate wedding garment in order to make your calling sure.

Don't be deceived, having been called into God's Kingdom, a person can still be sent out if he or she will not wear the appropriate wedding garment. (Matt 22: 12&13).

It is only when you have the right garment on that your your calling and election become sure.

Being diligent in making your calling and election sure is to  work out your own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12).

Praise be to God who works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). This therefore means that God is working in each and every believer in order that they might make their calling and election sure.

Your singular responsibility is simply to comply with the workings of God within you so that you can have the right garment on.

*"...Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God"* (Revelation  19:9).

 *Bible  Reading :*

Mathew 22:2-14.

 *PRAYER FOCUS

1.) Father God, help me to always yield to your workings within me so that I can be ready for the marriage supper of the lamb.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
