DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Text : 1 Corinthians 6:9&10.

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
 *Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

 *Domestic violence is not just a crime against humanity, it is a sin before God. Say 'NO' to it.* 

Domestic violence is any violence or abuse committed in a domestic setting such as in marriage. 

Domestic abuse comes in different forms;  physical abuse,  emotional abuse, sexual abuse and so on. Whichever form it takes, abuse is wrong and should be frowned at at any quarter. No one should be subjected to any kind of abuse whatsoever. 

(If you are been abused in anyway, please, speak up, look for a right person to report to and don't forget to report such to God, He will fight for you.)

However, one very silent abuse that goes almost unnoticed even among Christians is the verbal abuse. 

Verbal abuse is a harsh and insulting language directed at a person. The word of God refers to verbal abuser as a reviler. To revile is to attack someone with abusive language. 

Doesn't it amaze you that a reviler is part of the list of those whom God says will not inherit His Kingdom. A reviler is grouped alongside with an adulterer and idolaters. 

The words you write or speak to others can leave a huge impact and create a lasting memory-either good or bad–so it is of utmost importance to choose them wisely. 

Words can make or break a man. Your choice of words and the way you express yourself can build up or destroy you, or your listener.

Don't engage in domestic violence through verbal abuse,  rather, Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man. (Colossians  4:6).

1.) Father God, forgive me of every idle words I have spoken and cause my tongue to be seasoned with grace and salt henceforth in Jesus name.

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." WHEN GOD IS SILENT(2)

Text: Matthew 4:1  *Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.*  We saw yesterday that God was not pleased with many israelites that left Egypt for the promised land  (Corinthians 10:5).  A good percentage of the Israelites were overthrown in the wilderness.   Wilderness experience is not what any child of God desires, but it is an experience God sends or allows his children go through. In Deuteronomy 8:2, God says that He *LED* the Isrealites through the wilderness for forty years to humble them, to prove them, and to know what was in their heart whether they would keep his commandments or not.  Our Lord Jesus Christ was also *LED* into the wilderness by the Spirit of the Lord to be tempted by the devil.
