THE MYSTERIES

Text : Matthew 13:11.

He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

*Have  you ever wondered why some people are so dumb when it comes to spiritual things? Well, the things of the Spirit is indeed a mystery.*

When Jesus Christ was asked by His disciples why He always speak to the people in parables and not in plain language; He told them that matters of the kingdom are mysteries and can only be unravelled to kingdom minded people.

This is why some people make mockery of deep and spiritual matters because they couldn't make sense of it.

*For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.* 1 Corinthians  1:18.

These kind of people should be prayed for, so God can open their eyes to spiritual things.  However,  it will be a double-loss if as a child of God you lack understanding of what has been given to you to comprehend.

The mysteries of the kingdom should not remain a mystery to you. This is because Jesus, our Lord and Saviour says it has been given to you to know this mysteries.

It's one thing to get a gift, it's another thing to know how to use it. Responsibility is laid on you to seek to know what you have been permitted to know.

The things of the kingdom is like a student who has been offered admission to study in a prestigious university. This admission offers him the opportunity to bag a degree and probably proceed to accomplish greater feats, but, he can forfeit this great opportunity if he refused to study, go for  lectures and follow necessary rules and obligations expected of a student.

In the same vein,  if as a child of God,  you lack the desire for the word, for prayer and guidance of the Holy Spirit,  you will remain in the dark concerning what has been freely given to you to know.

Give diligence to make your calling and election sure, 2 Peter  1:10. Take time to study the word in order to show yourself approved unto God. (2 Timothy 2:15)

Bible  Reading: Matthew 13:1-17.
