HIS VOICE

Text : John 10:3.

To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

 *One thing that differentiates the sheep from the goats is that the sheep hear His  voice. Whose voice are you hearing?* If you are a member of the sheepfold, you will hear His voice.

The truth is, everyone is hearing voices.  If you are not hearing the voice of the Shepherd,  you are hearing the voice of strangers. And strangers here could range from your friends to your enemies.

And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.* Joh 10:5.

Whose voice are you hearing? Whose voice are you listening to? Man will go in the direction of what he hears. That's why Romans 10:17 says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

It is typical of Jesus to liken His disciples (followers) to sheep, while those who refused to follow are regarded as goats.  Infact,  even when He was talking about judging the nations at the end of all things, He still used the same analogy .

  ```When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels are with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be assembled in front of him, and he will call them out, one from another, like a shepherd separates sheep from goats.``` Matthew 25:31- 32.
The Shepherd has two responsibilities over the sheep ;
1. *He calls them:*  To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: *and he calls his own sheep by name,*  and leads them out (John  10:3).
It is the duty of the Shepherd to call, but it is your duty to hear and to harken. He is calling your name right now. *Today if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts* (Hebrews  3:15).
Jesus emphatically says in  John 10:11 that " ```I’m the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."
The good Shepherd is calling out for you today. His voice is ringing out to you through this Devotional, please, respond to Him.
 *Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.* (Revelation  3:20)
