AGAIN AND AGAIN

Text : Acts 4:31.

When they had prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken, and all of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak messages from God boldly.

D L Moody, an American Evangelist was once asked why he urged Christians to be filled constantly with the Holy Spirit. “Well,” he said, “I need a continual infilling because I leak!”

It’s a fact that living in this sinful world, we do need to be replenished by the Spirit.

Emphatically, Jesus commanded His disciples not to embark on any work until they are endue with power from on high.

*I am sending to you what my Father promised, so stay here in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”* Luke 24:49.

Again in Acts 1:4-5, Jesus repeated the same instruction to His disciples.  “Don’t leave Jerusalem. Instead, wait for what the Father has promised, about which you heard me speak,
because John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit a few days from now.”

God fulfilled this promise just ten days after Jesus' ascension to heaven.  All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in foreign languages as the Spirit gave them that ability.Acts 2:4.

Every child of God needs this baptism of the Holy Spirit to function as a child of God indeed.

However, by chapter four the disciples needed to be filled again. _When they had prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken, and all of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak messages from God boldly._ Acts 4:3.

This goes to show that  *Holy Spirit baptism is not a one-off thing, there's need to be filled again and again.*

In as much as you are driving your car, there will always be need to refuel. In the same vein,  in as much as you are here on earth, there's need to be filled with the Holy Spirit again and again.

God that baptised you at your spiritual birth is always ready to baptise you again if you ask Him.

Bible  Reading: Acts 4:1-31.

PRAYER FOCUS
1.) Father God, please baptize me with your Holy Spirit afresh.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
