Text : Ephesians 4:26
"Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath.(NKJ)
When you get angry, the tendency to commit sin is very high. Your goal then should be that you should get rid of anger. By putting it off, it looses its grip over you. Colossians 3:8 says that "you yourselves are to put off anger..."
You have the sole responsibility of putting off anger. Putting off anger can mean to violently strip it, disarm it, or despoil it. When anger has been stripped of its power in your life, it will no longer drive you to sin. It is only at this point you can be angry and sin not.
When the power of anger has been disarmed in your life, then you will receive grace not to allow the sun to go down on your wrath. (Ephesians 4:27).
When you allow the sun to go down on your wrath, that means the anger has gotten hold of you for too long a time. The grip that anger or wrath has on you goes a long way in determining the duration of the anger whenever you are in session.
You must therefore be careful not to allow the sun to go down on your wrath, as this will always give a foothold to the devil. anger gives a foothold to the devil.(Ephesians 4:27).
An uncontrolled anger will always give a foothold to the devil in your life. You must watch it, lest the devil take hold of your whole life.
Bible Reading: Numbers 20:1-12.
