WHEN YOU PRAY

Text : Luke 11:2

"When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven..."

The disciples of Jesus came to Him asking that He should teach them how to pray just as John taught his disciples. (Luke 11:1).

In response to the disciples, Jesus gave them the curriculum for effective Praying.

We shall be considering few details of this content.

When you pray, the very first thing you must know is that your God is also the Father of many other children. Hence, Jesus identified Him as "Our Father".

Don't allow some so called men of God beguile you with their bigotry, making you feel they are special than other children of God. Well, Jesus said you should say, "Our Father". That simply connotes that God is a Father to as many that would come to Him with an open and  sincere heart.

Our God is neither a partial God nor a respecter of persons. Apostle Peter said in Acts 10:34 & 35 that "...God is no respecter of persons, but in every nation he that fears Him, and works righteousness, is accepted with him".

The very first thing you must have at the back of your mind anytime you come before the Lord in prayer is that, He is a Father.

Once you are able to settle the Fatherhood of God over your life, then you are set to approach Him with all boldness and assurance in the place of prayer.

Effective Praying begins with your  understanding of the Fatherhood of God in your life.

Though God is a Father and wants to be Father to all believers, but many believers are yet to access His Fatherhood.
