HOSPITALITY

Text : I’ll have some water brought to wash your feet while you rest under the tree.
I’ll bring some food for you, and after that you may continue your journey, since you have come to visit your servant.” So they replied, “Okay! Do what you’ve proposed.”

Hebrews  13:2  says *Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

This was exactly what Abraham did, he entertained angels without realising it. Unlike Abraham, many have used bad attitude  to send their destiny helpers away, beware.

As Abraham was sitting near the entrance to his tent during the hottest part of the day,  the LORD appeared to him by the oaks belonging to Mamre. Genesis 18:1.
However,  Abraham didn't know it was the Lord, he thought he was dealing with some strangers.

He glanced up and saw three men standing there, not far from him. As soon as he noticed them, Abraham ran from the tent entrance to greet them and bowed low to the ground. Genesis 18:2.

The first step to being hospitable is greetings.

*There is no culture or race that encourages people to be rude and snobbish, such idea emanates directly from the devil.*

Hospitality and hostility are two sides of a coin. When you are not hospitable, you are simply being hostile.

Abraham had been looking up to God for a child, and God decided to bless him with one. But if Abraham had failed to show hospitality to the supposed strangers that time, he would have missed his divine visitation.

In this new year and beyond, make it your habit to be hospitable. Learn to greet people around both known people and strangers, learn to be welcoming and you will live to reap the benefits.

Bible Reading:Genesis 18:1-15.
