ENCUMBERED-2

Text :  Luke 10:40.

But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? Bid her therefore that she help me.

Martha felt she was doing the right thing so much so she told Jesus to command her sister to join her.

One of the most dangerous foes to fight in christendom is the spirit of religion.

Mary was busy listening to the Master's words, while Martha was busy preparing food that the master will eat.

To a natural man, the two of them were doing the right thing. But when Martha was offended that her sister didn't join her, hear Jesus' response to her:
The Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha! You worry and fuss about a lot of things.
But there’s only one thing you need. Mary has chosen what is better, and it is not to be taken away from her. Luke 10:41-42.

Obviously, many are still following Martha's style today. They worry and fuss about many things. (To fuss is to be encumbered with excessive activities).

That you are encumbered with legitimate activities doesn't make you right before God, He wants you more than what you have to offer.*

Jesus told Martha that one thing is needful and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

It's high time you chose the one thing that is needful- hearing the Master. It is the only good part that guarantees life.

Bible Reading: Luke 10:38-42.

PRAYER FOCUS
1.) Father Lord, I receive grace to hear and obey your words this year and always, knowing well that you never fail.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
