WISE BEHAVIOUR-2

Text : 1 Samuel 18:14

*And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him.*

Not all that glitters is gold, so goes the old saying. That high position you so desired comes at a price.

David knew beyond every iota of doubt that king Saul wanted him dead. Saul who doubled as his King and his direct boss was by all means  more highly placed than David (at least in the physical)yet he was intimidated by his subject.

*Most times, people don't envy you for what you have but for who you are, be sure to know who you are.*

One reason why David was said to behave himself wisely was because he knew who he was in God, and he obviously knew how to make God fight his battles for him.

He knew it was not his place to fight the Lord's anointed, that is God's exclusive jurisdiction. *Once you are sure God is fighting your battles, you don't have to take laws into your hands anymore.*

He says, "I will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace." Exodus 14:14.

At no point are we commanded to engage anyone in physical combat, even when you are sure someone is your enemy,  the instruction is to love your enemies and pray for those that  despitefully use you. Matthew 5:44. This way, you are behaving yourself wisely and creating a platform for God to fight on your behalf.

He says in Romans 12:19 that "vengeance is mine and I will repay."

When God fights on your behalf,  even you yourself will be awed.
This is one way to behave yourself wisely.

PRAYER FOCUS
1.) Father, grant me the wisdom to behave myself wisely in all situations.
