"THIS KIND..."

Text: Matthew 17:21

However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting."

Yesterday we considered the major and general factor(unbelief) that  mskes your hardcore situation to remain.

Today, we shall be looking at the specific steps that is required of you to get rid of stubborn and hardcore problems in your life. Jesus referred to this type of situation that is resistant to change as - "...this kind".

Our Lord Jesus Christ told his disciples that there are certain demons that will not leave except by prayer and fasting.

Basically, one major and general requirement for casting out devils is simply by believing in  the name of Jesus.
Mark 16:17 says " *And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons..."*
By implication, a day old believer should be able to cast out devils.

Jesus however stressed that there are kinds of devils that requires a deeper devotional life in God to deal with.

Every believer must know that we are in a warfare with a conquered but unrelenting enemy, hence there is need  to press in to greater victory.

Though this enemy(devil) is not a lion but he does roars like a lion looking for whom to devour.
*Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.1 Peter 5:8*.

In being sober and vigilant against the devil's roaring is the need for you to constantly engage in prayer and fasting.

You will hear many Christians say they don't believe in fasting. Their argument is that Jesus has finished all  the work on the cross. That's very true! But don't be deceived by this cheap cajole of a lazy Christian.

The disciples of John once asked Jesus,  "Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but Your disciples do not fast?"
Jesus replied, "Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.Matthew 9:14-15.

*You must take a deliberate step in prayer and fasting in order to get rid of certain works and operations of the enemy in your life.*

*Spiritual laziness can rob you of great destiny if you refuse to shake it off in good time.*  It is spiritual laziness that has kept the shop of false prophets opened till now. If a believer can sit, learn and put what they learn into action; prophets that are prophesying for the sake of their belly shall fade away.

Jesus has given us the two keys needed for delivering yourself and others: Believe, Pray and  Fast.

*Prayer and fasting are both acts of Faith before the Lord. They are not God's hand- twisters.*  Genuine prayer and fasting are products of faith in the Lord. So when you engage in prayer and fasting, you are simply saying to the Lord that you believe and trust Him.

May you put to flight every long standing operations of the devil in your life as you set yourself before the Lord in prayer and fasting come year 2023.

PRAYER FOCUS
1.) Lord, I  shake off every spiritual laziness that has been robbing me of my blessings in you.

Bible Reading:Matthew 17:14-21.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

WHEN GOD IS SILENT(2)

Text: Matthew 4:1  *Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.*  We saw yesterday that God was not pleased with many israelites that left Egypt for the promised land  (Corinthians 10:5).  A good percentage of the Israelites were overthrown in the wilderness.   Wilderness experience is not what any child of God desires, but it is an experience God sends or allows his children go through. In Deuteronomy 8:2, God says that He *LED* the Isrealites through the wilderness for forty years to humble them, to prove them, and to know what was in their heart whether they would keep his commandments or not.  Our Lord Jesus Christ was also *LED* into the wilderness by the Spirit of the Lord to be tempted by the devil. You will  notice there is a similar feature of the number *40(forty)* between these two wilderness experiences. That is, that of the Israelites and our Lord Jesus Christ. The Israelites spent 40years, Jesu...
