TRUST & PEACE - 3

Text : Isaiah 26:3.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

*The Lord is committed to keeping you in perfect peace if only your mind would stay on Him.* But your mind can however only stay on God when you trust Him whole-heartedly.

Proverbs 3:5 talks about trusting the Lord with all your heart. Yes! Trusting must be with ALL your heart. This therefore means that you can trust half-heartedly and not whole-heartedly.

From our Bible reading, we saw that the disciples of Jesus (Apostles) trusted that Jesus is able to do  something to save them  from the raging storm on the sea; but they never trusted Him with the whole of their hearts. Hence, they could not enjoy PEACE in the face of trouble.

*Fear is a symptom of peace deficiency, and peace-deficiency is a product of lack of whole-hearted trust in God.*  Though the disciples called on Jesus to save them, but He never saw their faith in Him. Jesus therefore  said to them- "Why are ye so fearful? how is it that you have no faith?" Mark 4:40.

Jesus did not see faith in the way they approached their life threatening situation. I hope Jesus is not saying the same thing about you as you cry, yell, shout and pray thinking you are in faith.

They ran to meet Jesus at the back of the ship, woke Him and  say, "don't you care that we perish?" In all of these, Jesus never saw their Trut in Him.

Being confident that God will come through for you; maintaining your calm in the face of troubles; refusing unpalatable situations to roughen and unsettle you point to the fact that your God whom you serve is bigger than all the devils in hell.

You must settle it in your heart that your end is not death. That's about our greatest enemy on this side of eternity. *As a child of God, you are simply in- between Jesus Christ, who is the Alpha and Omega. So, whatever happens, you are always safe in the hollow of His hand.*

*Do not fear anything that befalls you, rather always fear the Lord and put your trust in Him.*

Do not say or ask " but why me?" It is you because it's your time to showcase God's glory. *Remember, it was Lazarus' time to die in his sickness because it was God's time to be glorified.*

As man on this side of eternity, we are so limited in our knowledge about God. No matter how much anyone may claim to know about God today, it's so infinitesimal as compared to when we see Him face to face. Halleluyah! We are going to see Him face to face just as He is.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 1 Corinthians  13:12

PEACE!!!

 *Bible reading* : Mark 4:35-41.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1.) Father God, grant me a heart that will always trust you even in the face of trials and challenges.

2.) Father God, help my heart to always know and to take consolation in your tangible and manifest presence in my life.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

HIS VOICE- 2

Text : John 10:3. To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. We established yesterday that one thing you can't joke with as a true follower of Christ is *His Voice.* You must recognise and hearken to (obey) His voice. It is in doing this that your safety is assured.  Today, we want to see another responsibility of the Shepherd over His sheep.  To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, *and leads them out.* John 10:3.  He called you, that He might lead you. It is not enough for you to hear or recognise His Voice, you must allow Him to lead you as well.  Romans 8:14 says *For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.*   The Spirit leading you determines the family you belong to. Basically,  there are only two families in this world - the family of God, and the family of satan. In other words, we can say the Kingdom...
