Text : Isaiah 26:3.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Yesterday we saw how Jesus rebuked the wind and calmed the sea. And by this act of faith, peace was restored and everything returned to normalcy.
Though, Jesus was sleeping during the stormy wind on the sea, but I believe that he was also conscious of His environment. He was probably using the opportunity to see what the reaction of his disciples would be.
Jesus used this challenging moment to measure His disciples' level of faith.
You can just imagine yourself being confronted with a life threatening situation, while still fidgeting, you hear someone say to you "why is it that you have no faith?" What do you think your reaction would be towards this person? You will likely get angry at such person, right? But the
*The truth is, your FAITH is measured by your PATIENCE & TRUST in God in times of troubles and not when things are going on well.*
1 Peter 1:7 stated it thus- _That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:_
*Get it straight, your Faith will not be much more precious than gold until it has been tried by fire(trials).*
Our Lord Jesus Christ will only affirm a Faith that has been tried to be much more precious than gold. *Anyone can talk or boast anything, but strong and FAITH-FULL men are those that stay strong in the day of adversity.*
The Bible says in Proverbs 24:10 that _If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small._
Without any sentiment, Jesus impliedly told His disciples that they had no faith because of their fear, panic and lack of trust. You can imagine how many cases have slipped our hands because we had no faith in the Lord.
At least, the Apostles went to wake Jesus out of fear and panic, wouldn't it be better that you learn to recognise and acknowledge the manifest and tangible presence of Jesus in your boat (life) before the arrival of stormy wind?
Learn to follow and fellowship with Jesus before your own trying moment comes. You will not be found wanting, confused and stranded when you are sure of your Lord's presence with you in the day of adversity.
PEACE!!!
