HEARING GOD

Text: John 10:4

*When he has driven out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they recognize his voice.*

*As a Father, God is always speaking to His children. The question is, do you hear Him speak?*

Often, you hear questions like, how can I  hear God speak to me? How do I  know if it is the voice of God? Does God speaks to everyone?

Just imagine that you are a father with five children, would you speak to two of your children and never have anything to do with the other three?

Under normal circumstances, every Father wants to have good rapport with his children. Much more than an earthly father, God desires a very good rapport with all His children.

Because many do not have a good working relationship with their earthly fathers, who ought to model a good and loving father figure to them, a lot already have a distorted idea of the fatherhood nature of God.

*One of the ploys of the enemy is to make man view God as unloving. God is a loving Father.*

And as a loving Father, He is always talking to His children. From the very beginning, we saw how God was talking with Adam( the first man). His first word to him was that of blessing.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth....Gen 1:28-30.

As a good and loving Father, He gave them guidance as to how to lead a triumphant life. Gen.2:16-17.

Even after man disobeyed God's command,  He still lovingly spoke to man. Gen.3:8-10.

Out of His love and compassion towards man, He sent His only begotten Son to die for mankind so man can be restored back to the fellowship he had with the father.

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 2Cor. 5:19.

God wants to talk to you more than you are ready to listen.  *It is never a matter of God not speaking,  it is more of you not listening or you not recognising His voice.*

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father God, please make me listen when you speak, and give me grace to harken to your words.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
