HEART 2

Text:  1 Samuel 16:7

*But the LORD said to him, “Pay no attention to how tall and handsome he is. I have rejected him, because I do not judge as people judge. They look at the outward appearance, but I look at the heart.”*

Proverbs 4:23 says *Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it [spring] the issues of life.*

*"If you are able to keep your heart, you will be able to keep your tongue-A tamed heart  is a tamed tongue."*

When Samuel visited Jesse's house for ordination, the Lord uttered the statement, _"...I have refused him..."_ concerning Eliab while Samuel uttered the statement, _"...neither has the Lord chosen this..."_ towards the other six sons.

The statements " _I have refused you"_ and _"I have not chosen you"_ carry two different meaning. While the first shows *Rejection* , the latter shows *Preference* .

The basis for rejection, preference and acceptance from the Lord is the state of our hearts. No one can hide his heart's content from God, though you may hide from man just for a little while.

David who was just a shepherd (of sheep and goats) has got the heart to do God's will than all his seven brothers.

God found David's heart to be one after Him. God found his heart as the most appropriate for the job (1Sam. 13:14). In the same manner, God daily weighs hearts to see if anyone is fit for what He's about to do in His kingdom, church, family, community, city, and Nation. Would the Lord find your heart worthy for His assignment today?

As far as the Lord is concerned, It's all about the heart and not the physique, talent or charisma. The Lord will judge all based on the content of their hearts.

If you carefully study David in the Bible, you will realise that he was a man who focused  much on his heart. He once asked the Lord to search his heart and see if there is any wicked way in him, and lead him in the way everlasting.

Psalms 139:23&24.

Would you be willing that your heart be searched by the Lord as well? For you to continually experience the flow of God's Spirit and approval, you must regularly undergo regular heart check in the "WORD CLINIC".

_Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.Psalms 119:80.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father Lord, help me to pay attention to my heart and what comes out from it.

2. Search me O LORD and see if there is any wickedness in my heart, and purge me.

 *Bible Reading*

I Samuel 16:5-14.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
