HE IS RISEN

Text: Matthew  28:7

*And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.*

Today is Easter Sunday. A day we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ. This is one event the devil will ever regret.

That is why 1 Corinthians 2:8 says, *None of the rulers of this world understood it, because if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.*  This mystery confounded the devil and his kingdom to its root.

By the time they realised it, it was too late, so they looked for means of silencing the  truth. Hear what they did :

"Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first." Mat 27:64 KJV

The question here is, what was the first error and what were they referring to as the  last error ?

The devil through this people, realised that it was an error to crucify Jesus in the first place, he taught  he wanted to end His life, not knowing that he was actually ending the reign of sin in man.

Colossians 2:14 says *Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;*

This was the first error.  Crucifyiing Jesus means that the sin of mankind was fully paid for by a sinless man on the tree.

Now, the second error he thought he could stop was His resurrection.  He knew if Jesus was raised from the dead,  He will only be the firstborn among the dead, the rest of mankind will be freed from the pangs of death as well. Romans 8:29.

But Glory be to God, nothing could stop Him from rising up from the dead.  He says " *O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?*"1 Corinthians  15:55.

He was nailed to the cross so you could be free from the power of Sin. Romans  6:14 says "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." His death gives you the grace to live above sin. How are you using this grace?

Walk in the victory Jesus had won for you, and receive the power to rule over sin.

He is risen. This is the hope we have in Him, knowing that we will also reign with Him eternally.

It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:

If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: 2 Timothy 2:11-12.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father,  help me to come to the full understanding of why Christ died for me and help me to live my life accordingly.

 *Bible Reading:*  Matthew 28:1-20.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
