STRANGE WOMAN 2

 Text : Proverbs 2:16 KJV

*To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;*

Today, we shall be looking at some of the operations of the strange woman and how to wriggle out of it.

Remember that essentially, the strange woman is actually a representation of anything or anyone that is capable of luring you away from your God-given destiny. The characteristics of the strange woman include:

1.) *Flattery:* One thing that is closely associated with the strange woman's operation is Flattery. Prov. 2:16, 7:5  6:24

Flattery is excessive praise or approval, which is often insincere and sometimes contrived to win favour.

A child of God should not give flattery and it is wisdom to know when you are being flattered.

*Don't have an exaggerated or inflated worth of yourself.*

2.) *She's everywhere* : Now she is in the street, now in the plazas, she lurks near every corner.Pro 7:12 ISV.

When Jesus resisted the devil's temptation the first time, the devil didn't give up, he tempted Him two more times.

That you were able to resist the strange woman's ploy once doesn't mean she won't try again. You must keep resisting.

Note that the devil has stationed different distractions at every juncture of your life. Jesus overcame through the word, you will overcome through the word too.

So, it's a question of how much of His words you have kept in your heart.

Psalms 119:11 says *Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.*

Proverbs 7:1-5 say *My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.*

Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

It's not so much about the amount of the words you know, it's how much of what you know and kept.

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Revelation  1:3.

 *BIBLE READING* :

Proverbs 7:4-27.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father,  give me wisdom and grace to run from strange women and whatever she stands for.

2.) Lord, give me the grace to keep your words in my heart so I may not sin against you.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

DECEITFULNESS OF SIN 2

TEXT. Hebrews 3:13  *But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin* .  *While deceit is a sin, Sin itself is deceitful.* Sin has the capacity to lure a man to do stuffs. *One of the major vices of the devil is to make sin appear attractive and unharmfult.* If Eve could see what the consequences of eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would be, she would have resisted the deception of the man of sin. She was simply deceived.Gen, 3:6 While it is no news that all sinners are already condemned to deceitfulness of sin, it is sad to know that many children of God (like Adam and Eve), are being easily deceived by Sin. See the case of Ananias and Sapphira, Acts 5:1-13. Many Christians today are still playing the same game of smartness this couple played. I call it smartness because that was what they thought they were doing. While they thought they were smart, Peter knew that Satan h...
