OF MORE VALUE 2

TEXT : Matthew 6:26 ISV

*Look at the birds in the sky. They don’t plant or harvest or gather food into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. You are more valuable than they are, aren’t you?*

God uses nature to explain His mind to us. Here, He wants us to consider the birds of the sky. As a living thing, they need food to survive, though they don't plant nor harvest, yet your heavenly Father feeds them.

Note that God was not referred to as a father to birds, *God is the creator of all things, but He is only a Father to humans not any other created things.* Yet, He feeds the birds.

If your father can provide for a bird, how much more you that are created in His image.

Now, don't get the impression that God wants you to live like the birds which neither plants nor harvests yet are being fed. God will not in anyway advocate laziness. As a matter of fact, He says in His word that he that will not work should not eat. 2 Thessalonians 3:10.

From the very beginning, He(God) gave a work of tending the garden to Adam,  this suggests that God doesn't wants us to be idle, doing nothing. However,  God never created man for survival. The survival instincts in man came as a result of the fall of man.

Originally, man was created to give God pleasure. Revelation 4:11.

*Whatever it is you are doing in the name of making ends meet that doesn't give pleasure to God is a ploy by the devil to take you away from God eternally.*

The devil is a liar and a father of lies. He lied to man that man must hustle in order to make it in life. This hustling is the reason man engages in all kinds of shady deals just to proof a point.

In other parlance, hustling is seen as survival. It is seen as a legitimate way of worrying for daily necessities of life. Whichever way, God does not want his children to hustle but only to trust in Him as they embark on any task or endeavour.

Jesus did not deny the fact that man needs the necessary things of life. He said: So don’t ever worry by saying, ‘what are we going to eat?’ or ‘what are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ because it is the unbelievers who are eager for all those things. Surely your heavenly Father knows that you need all of them! Matthew 6:31-32.

Your Father (The owner of heaven and earth) knows all of your needs and He cares enough for you to make provision available.

When you consider how your Father cares for valueless things like flower, Sparrow,  birds, tress and stuffs like that, it should make you rejoice knowing that you are of more value to Him than they all.

 *BIBLE READING* :

Matthew 6:19-34.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father, help me to trust in your love for me knowing that you care for me more than I could imagine.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

DECEITFULNESS OF SIN 2

TEXT. Hebrews 3:13  *But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin* .  *While deceit is a sin, Sin itself is deceitful.* Sin has the capacity to lure a man to do stuffs. *One of the major vices of the devil is to make sin appear attractive and unharmfult.* If Eve could see what the consequences of eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would be, she would have resisted the deception of the man of sin. She was simply deceived.Gen, 3:6 While it is no news that all sinners are already condemned to deceitfulness of sin, it is sad to know that many children of God (like Adam and Eve), are being easily deceived by Sin. See the case of Ananias and Sapphira, Acts 5:1-13. Many Christians today are still playing the same game of smartness this couple played. I call it smartness because that was what they thought they were doing. While they thought they were smart, Peter knew that Satan h...
