THE LAW

 *Text:* Rom 8:2.

*For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.*

It is common to hear believers say we are no more under the law, and yes, that is true,we are no more under the law.

Romans  6:14 says For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. It's unfortunate that some have however blown this verse out of  proportion.

*Grace is supplied so you can live above sin,not so you can keep sinning.*

The truth is that no one is free from the law, it's just matter of the type of law you are operating with.

From our text, it's obvious that there are two types of law that man can operate under :

1: The law of the Spirit of life.

2. The law of sin and death.

Now, between these two laws, there is no middle ground.  *It's either you are under the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus or under the law of sin and death, no middle ground.*

The verse one of Romans 8 is such a popular verse, `` *There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.* ```

This verse is not applicable to all believers, only to those   who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit.

To walk after the flesh is to walk after the law of sin and death. This is a law that is operating in all humans by default since the fall of man in the garden of Eden.

This explains why a child needs not be taught before he starts to lie, steal, get angry and do any of such evils. These vices simply show forth by default because man is responding to the law of nature within him, which is the law of sin which leads to death.

Wherever sin is present, death is present also. Rom.7:5.

That's why Romans  6:23  says For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The law of sin will ultimately lead to death,  and the only way out of this law is the law of the Spirit of life which can only be found in Christ Jesus.

Examine yourself,  which of these laws is directing your life? *A true believer of Christ is delivered from the law of sin so he can operate under the law of life.* We are not  lawless beings in Christ, we only submit to higher law.

 *BIBLE READING* :

Romans 8:1-14.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. I receive the grace to say no to the law of sin and death.

2. I receive the grace to obey the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
