BUILDING CAPACITY

*Text :  Gen 41:40 ISV*

*So you are to be appointed in charge over my palace, and all of my people are to do whatever you command them to do. Only the throne will have greater authority than you.”*

There was no time in the life of Joseph when someone announced to him that "Now, is your period of preparation. This is the time for capacity building."
Don't wait for a special time to prepare yourself for the big platform, now is your time for preparation.

It turned out that on a fateful day, Joseph was taken from the prison to the palace and before the end of the day, he became the second in command in the land of Egypt ( Egypt was the world power then).

That Joseph is gifted is no hidden truth. By reason of his gift, he was able to interpret the King's dream, a feat no other person could perform in Egypt. But it wasn't his gift that gave him the technical know-how of solving the nation's problem, It was a skill he developed over the years.

*It's God's jurisdiction to give you gifts and talents, but it's your obligation to fully apply your giftings.*

*Your gift will open the door of greatness to you, your capacity will keep you in the room of Greatness.*

Imagine that all Joseph could do was to interpret dreams, his story would have ended in verse 32 of Genesis 41.

By verse 32, Joseph had successfully given the correct interpretation of Pharaoh's dream. His dream tells of the looming problems with no solution.
This is typical of many humans, we are good at spotting the problems yet proffering zero solution.

For Joseph however,  he didn't just see the problem,  he went further to offer solutions.

Joseph was able to do this because every assignment he had undertaken gave him the platform to build His managerial skills.

He did an excellent job as a serving slave under Potiphar, Gen. 39:1-6.
He did a spectacular job while serving as a prisoner, Gen. 41:19-23.

For every assignment he undertook, he had more than enough reason not to do well, but he was able to accomplish great feats because the Spirit of God was with him and because he wouldn't disdain little,  insignificant assignments.

For every little assignment you are called to do, know that it is a platform to test your faithfulness before you can be trusted with bigger ones.

*He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.* Luke  16:10.
